Ossa changed / updated their motocross bikes every June.
Bike currently has daytime MOT and will be MOT exempt in 2020.
The bike has been built from scratch from predominantly NOS parts and improved aftermarket parts.
The engine and gearbox were totally rebuilt in the States by Ossa guru Keith Lynas who builds the worlds fastest tuned Ossa motors and shipped to me assembled ready to go from San Diego.
I waited over two years for the engine he’s that busy. The frame and swing arm were NOS items and have been powder-coated in the correct colour silver. The fork yokes and bar clamps are polished NOS items. Correct Betor legs sourced and seals replaced etc. Original chrome excellent so left alone.
Bars are Renthals enduro high. Grips are Renthals. Levers are NOS Amal original and not later copies. Covers are NOS Ossa Speedo and bracket are rare original Ossa items. All cables are new Venhill Featherlight. Throttle is new Pro-Taper with the bearing in the end of the bars for better action. Rear shocks are period Fox Air Shocks sourced in the States and rebuilt by Rod Spry here in the UK.
They were a sought after item at the time as Marty Moates ran them on his works bike. Plastics, front and rear mudguards, are new and imported from DC Plastics in the States.
The Fuel Tank, Air Box and Side Panels are brand new. Made using my original parts as patterns. The wheels have new Excel rims and spokes imported from the States built into the correct hubs by myself.
Tyres are brand new Michelin AC10’s, road legal. Chain is brand new 520 DID MX chain. Rear sprocket and gearbox sprocket are new items. Silencer is Pro-Circuit originally intended for a 2 stroke Honda CR250. Ossa unbelievably only put tiny stingers to arrest the sparks on their '70’s competition MX bikes! I wouldn’t have got it through a MOT!
The seat is original and in amazing condition given its age as is the expansion chamber. As you can see from the photo’s virtually every part is NOS, chain tensioner, footrests, brake pedal and parts etc. The bike runs, sounds and performs like a modern 250 two stroke. Condition is obviously amazing for a 40 year old competition bike.
