Classic Kawasakis at Steel City Classics

After a classic Kawasaki? You've found the right showroom. Steel City Classics stocks collectable Kawasakis at our premises on Sheffield Road, Unstone, midway between Sheffield and Chesterfield, with viewing encouraged and delivery available across the UK.

Few marques have a back catalogue like Kawasaki's. The fearsome two stroke triples of the late sixties and early seventies gave way to the mighty Z1, the 903cc four that snatched the superbike crown in 1972, and the Z650, Z900 and Z1000 that followed built the reputation. Then came the GPZ900R, the original Ninja, now climbing the collector rankings just as the Z models did before it. Bikes of this calibre pass through our hands regularly; current stock includes an early production 1973 Z1, restored to an exceptional standard and a former VJMC Best in Show winner.

Why buy your classic Kawasaki from a specialist?

Values on the best classic Kawasakis have climbed sharply, and with that comes a market of over described bikes and optimistic restorations. Every Kawasaki we sell is assessed and prepared in our own workshop first, described honestly, and backed by more than fifty years of combined experience in the classic bike trade. We know the difference between a genuine early Z1 and a bitsa, and we'll talk you through exactly what you're buying.

Part exchange is always welcome, and if the Kawasaki you want isn't in stock today, tell us what you're chasing and we'll look out for it; good bikes come to us first because sellers know we pay properly for them.

Classic Kawasaki questions we're often asked

The Z1 sits at the top of the tree, with early production examples the most prized of all. The H2 750 triple and the smaller KH models have a devoted following, clean Z650s and Z1000s are appreciating steadily, and the GPZ900R is the one to watch as eighties bikes come of age.
Yes, and demand for good Z series bikes in particular means we pay strong money for the right examples. We buy outright or offer a sale or return service through our Sell Your Bike page.
Better than you might expect. The Z series is superbly supported, with excellent reproduction and new old stock parts available, and the club scene keeps the triples on the road too. Our workshop can source parts and handle servicing, recommissioning and restoration work on classic Kawasakis.
