Classic Suzukis at Steel City Classics

Hunting for a classic Suzuki? Steel City Classics keeps a rotating stock of them at our showroom on Sheffield Road, Unstone, midway between Sheffield and Chesterfield, and every bike can be delivered anywhere in the UK.

Suzuki's classic years gave us something for everyone. The GT750 kettle and the smaller two stroke GTs, the bulletproof GS fours that took on the world, the Katana that tore up the styling rulebook, and the RG500 and early GSX-R750 that brought the race track to the road. Just as collectable at the other end of the scale are the sports mopeds that half of Britain learned to ride on, and our current stock tells the story nicely: a partly restored 1976 AP50 sits alongside an air cooled 1982 GSX1100 with all the low down muscle Suzuki was famous for.

Why buy your classic Suzuki from a specialist?

Two strokes reward careful ownership and punish neglect, and forty year old superbikes have usually passed through plenty of hands. Every Suzuki we sell is assessed and prepared in our own workshop before it reaches the showroom floor, and we describe bikes as they really are, because with more than fifty years in the classic trade between us, our reputation is worth more than any single sale.

Part exchange is always welcome, and if the Suzuki you remember from your teens isn't in stock right now, tell us what it is and we'll go looking. Reuniting riders with the bikes they once owned is half the fun of this job.

Classic Suzuki questions we're often asked

The RG500 Gamma and early GSX-R750 lead the modern classics, the GT750 kettle remains the definitive seventies Suzuki, and clean GS and GSX fours are steadily appreciating. Original Katanas have long since been recognised, and unmolested examples now command serious money.
Yes. We buy good classic Suzukis outright and also offer a sale or return service if you'd rather we sold the bike for you. Start with our Sell Your Bike page or give us a call.
Nostalgia, mostly, and there's nothing wrong with that. For riders who turned sixteen in the seventies, an AP50 or FS1-E was freedom on two wheels, and surviving examples are scarce because most were ridden into the ground. Good ones have become genuinely sought after collectors' machines.
